Guest House in Djerba

DAR ENNOUR

In the heart of Djerbahood

Steeped in a legendary past, in the heart of the island of Djerba (Tunisia), in the unspoilt village of Er Riadh, once known as Hara Sghira, Dar En Nour (“house of light”) is a guest house, but also an authentic Djerbian house, lovingly restored to give its guests a place to rest and get away from it all. The unique refinement of the architecture and decor, and the warmth of the welcome, will make every visitor feel like a guest of honour.

Patio pool framed by arches, with sun loungers and parasol
Dar Ennour riad at night: lit pool, domes and terraces

The perfect place to unwind

Djerba is a melting pot of cultures: the El Ghriba synagogue, a major Jewish pilgrimage site just 2 km from Dar Ennour; Guellala, a Berber village renowned for its pottery, including some very large pieces; and of course Houmt Souk, the island’s capital, with its delightfully retro charm. Then there are the beaches: some protected and unspoilt for nature lovers, others livelier, with every facility and plenty of entertainment for a night out with friends (bars, nightclubs, restaurants…).

On the mainland, you can discover the wonders of southern Tunisia: fortified villages and granaries (ksour) built by the last people to resist the Arab invaders at the time of the conquest, the troglodyte dwellings of Matmata, and the sand and stone deserts with their date-palm oases at Ksar Ghilaine, Douz, Tozeur, Tamerza, Mides…
